Vintage Unique Thimble Hand Carved Little Man on Stump Rare

Very nice carved thimble featuring a little man sitting cross legged on a stump
His hat looks like a lily pad
1 5/8" tall with a 3/4" base diameter
It has a scrimshaw etched look, I have not been able to find anything like it in my research. I believe it's carved bone but it might be resin
From the estate of a family member, I do not know the age or origin, just that it's been around for many years
Wonderful detail and so unique
