    Description

    We love to celebrate good Folk Art wherever we find it.  Here is a great piece of early advertising painted on a truck door.  The door measures roughly 21" square and is 2 1/2" thick.  It weighs in at a hefty 15 lb.
    The copy reads W.W. Smith & Son, Chillicothe, MO PRODUCE,
    The lettering is gold with a red shadow border.  The quality and style of the lettering suggests the farmer did it himself.
    The door is interesting.  It is heavy sheet metal on a wooden frame.  The door has no window so it must have come from an early, open cab truck, likely from the teens or twenties.
    A nice find for the automotive/folk art collector.
