Bruinsma, Henry A. 1916-1991
Henry A. Bruinsma was born in Paterson, New Jersey in1916. It was said that
Bruinsma's lovefor music started at an early age.
As apreschooler, Bruinsma would eavesdrop on his older brother's piano lessons, andafterwards practices his brother's piano assignment.
When he was at high school age, Bruinsmachose to attend Ottawa Hills High School in Grand Rapids, Michigan as it wasknown for its prestigious music program. Bruinsma went on to attend college atthe University of Michigan where he pursued a degree in music, and eventuallyearned a Ph.D. in musicology.
