    If you want crystal-clear, clean, pure sound from your RCA Victor "45"
    Record Player or any turntable or record changer then upgrade to
    shielded tone-arm cable.
    RCA Victor "45" players always used shielded cable from the terminal
    strip to the amplifier or audio output cable but did not install shielded
    cable within the tone-arm itself.
    It could be that at that time, 70 years ago, there was not as much
    interference as we have today or it might have been a cost issue.
    What makes matters worse is that the RCA Victor RP-190 changer
    uses a plastic tone-arm shell so there is no shielding at all.
    Belden cable provides two levels of shielding,
    The signal wires are twisted to cancel interference
    and then enclosed in a braided covering.
    Reuse the original connectors at the cartridge output and
    connect the cable to the terminal strip as shown below.
