    Description

    Note:
This rare trade card has had some professional restoration – please read the full description before bidding.
Fantastic and very rare early trade card advertising Worsley’s Genuine Yankee Soap from Fels & Co., Philadelphia.  Card measures 6.5” x 4.25” and features an impressive color image of Uncle Sam lathering up his face while holding a package of Worsley’s Soap.  On the back side of the card, you can see some staining at the top (extends about 1.25” down from the top of the card at its greatest extent).  The area on the front of the card corresponding to the stained area on the back has been professionally restored.  The card was lithographed by Reen & Trump, 14 N. 4
    th
Street, Philadelphia as marked in the lower left corner of the card.  The colors are vibrant and the graphics are amazing on this early trade card.
Please note that you are bidding only on the Worsley's Yankee Soap trade card.  The other signs shown in the last photo are being auctioned separately, all with no reserve.

I am continuing to sell items from a from two long time drug store collections.  These collections are fresh to the market and includes quack medicine items, advertising tins, apothecary jars, pontiled medicine bottles, and early labeled patent medicine bottles (many with original contents and boxes).  I will be selling the collection over the next few months, many in lots of multiple bottles and with a low starting price and no reserve.  A great opportunity to add some rare labeled medicines and apothecary items to your collection!  Please bookmark me as a seller so you don’t miss out on any of my weekly auctions.
Bid with confidence--all items guaranteed to be old and original and come with a 30-day return if not satisfied.   In fairness to all bidders, I do not end auctions early or accept “Buy It Now” offers.  All auctions will run to their scheduled close.  Some bottles pictured have paraffin tape over the top and cork to prevent leakage of contents.  This tape can easily be removed by the new owner if desired.  Photos usually show all sides of all items or bottles; please don’t hesitate to contact me if you need additional details about a specific item or bottle.
Buyer to pay .00 shipping in the U.S.  I will only ship to the United States.  International Shipping has become too expensive and complicated – my apologies to my International bidders.  Shipping cost quoted is via USPS First Class Mail.  I am happy to combine shipping on multiple purchases when possible.  Please wait to pay until the weekly auctions end and I will send an invoice that reflects combined shipping (when combined shipping is possible).
Items sold with original contents are for collectible/display purposes only.  Contents are not to be taken and should be handled with care.  By purchasing items with contents, you agree to the statements above and hold oldlodgecolo harmless if any issues or accidents occur.  Great care is taken to carefully pack and ship all items.

This is a consignment piece from one of the collections I have been selling.  Here's a response from the consignor:
"I've owned this piece for years.  When I acquired it, there was some browning on the front around area.  I think the area on the front was where it is browned in the back but I am not sure.  I sent it to the conservator\restorer I have used for years. They have done a great job on many signs I have owned.  Here's a link to her website:

I don't recall the process they used on this piece.  The various techniques they use are described under the "Services" button.  Before and after examples of their work can be seen under the "Portfolio" button.  Of the examples at the bottom of the material at the Portfolio button, the Harrison's Columbia Ink\Perfumery is another piece of mine that Fourth Cone has conserved\restored.  Here's a link to some frequently asked questions on the Fourth Cone website which includes some information about their techniques:
