DESCRIPTION:
In very well-preserved overall antique condition, considering this
Qing Dynasty
antique
Canton
hand decorated porcelain ceramic ginger jar
is now
250 to 285 years old.
It's
missing its original small ceramic lid,
which often is the case with these
two piece ceramic ginger jars,
with the lids often becoming separated or broken when they're dropped on a table or fumbled onto the floor. This particular
ginger jar
has no hairline cracks, edge flea-bites or other ceramic loss to mention. There's a
small instance of slight discoloration on one of the lower sidewalls,
which amounts to a burnt sienna stain, most likely caused by a knock to its sidewall and subsequent discoloration from repeated handling. Aside from this jar missing its lid, it's in still relatively extraordinary overall antique condition. Featured on its sidewalls is a
circumnavigating, hand painted landscape
with mountains, trees, a lake or ocean, various houses and docks,
seen jetting out into the water. It's unsigned and has a raised, cleated foot.
With a
glossy, glazed, highly reflective ceramic finish.
A wonderful

CONDITION:
