Description

Pope Pius XII Vintage Framed Apostolic Benediction & Plenary Indulgence - Papal Blessing
The top of the document features a circular multicolored portrait of Pope Pius Xll (Eugenio Maria Giuseppe Giovanni Pacelli) glued to the top of the paper, with multicolored flowers (probably tulips) around the image
The text of the document appears on the bottom - It says, "Most Holy Father - Mr. And Mrs. Bath - Humbly prostrate at the feet of your Holiness, beg the Apostolic Benediction and a Plenary Indulgence to be gained at the hour of death on condition that being truly sorry for their sins even though unable to confess them and to receive the holy Viaticum they shall at least invoke with their lips or heart the holy Name of Jesus."
The bottom of the document features the Papal Seal, writing in Latin, and the signature of an Archbishop (Although the signature is faded, I believe the name is "Adamus," but this could be incorrect)
The paper of the document could be vellum - Handpainted accents on document
Decorative wooden frame painted gold - Glass insert - Brown Paper Backing, Wire For Wall Hanging
Frame: 15 1/4" Tall x 10 7/8" Wide x 3/4" Thick
Used
Some light browning/foxing from age
Some handwriting on the bottom of the document in pen - The signature of the archbishop is faded
Some light scratches on the glass insert
Some light scratches, scuffs, dings and spots of color wear around the edges of the wooden frame
The back of the frame used to be covered in brown paper - It has numerous small puncture holes from handling - Additionally, there are two pieces of green felt on the bottom back of the frame, to keep the frame from hitting and damaging the wall it hangs on
