The stock assist springs that come with these cars cause the clutch to feel very poor. Throughout the pedal stroke, the feeling is fuzzy and linear, blurring the actual start of the friction zone/joint point. In the long run, when trying to find the engagement point, clutch disc wear will increase due to unnecessary clutch slippage.
By replacing the original springs with the springs in this list, the clutch pedal feedback has been greatly improved. The pedal now has a progressive action, requiring little force at the bottom of the pedal stroke (near the floor), and increasing force as the pedal rises. Now it is easy to feel the actual characteristics of the pressure plate. Therefore, the clutch control is more precise. No need to guess where it might start crawling.
This list applies to one (1) replacement clutch pedal assist spring.

Note: Some springs are not painted yellow.
As you can see, the stock spring is very strong (rated value is about 330+lb/in). The replacement spring on the right has a rating of 52 pounds per inch.
Installation Notes
Using a small screwdriver, rotate the C-clamp so that it faces as shown in the picture-open towards the front of the car. Using needle-nose pliers, grasp the center of the clamp (red circle above) and pull it straight out. Do not remove the top clip/pin, this module is not needed, and it is difficult to reinstall.
At this time, the component is under load and the pin will not come out.
You will need to step on the pedal and keep it on the floor in order to remove the spring and be able to slide the pin to the left and out of the clevis. You don't need to completely remove the pins from the assembly, just remove the U-shaped bracket. Helpers may be useful. I usually step on (and hold) the pedal with my left hand while pulling out the pin with my right hand.
Once the pin is disengaged from the bracket and the pedal is still depressed, pull the entire spring/clevis assembly back to remove it, replace the weaker main spring and reassemble it. The small top spring and cap are reused.
The pedal must be fixed to the floor so that the clevis engages the bracket. This is a bit tricky, but please take a moment to align everything. Some people may find it easier to put the clevis on the bracket first, and then slide the pin in. Before reinstalling/aligning, I usually start the pin part from the clevis. Sliding pi
Insertion afterwards is actually more difficult because of the limited space for inserting the pins (from the left).
The important thing to remember is that before removing any pins, the pedal must be placed on the floor to remove the spring. It is under significant tension, and if it is removed forcefully without fully depressing the pedal, it may fly out and cause injury/bodily injury. This only applies to pins, not to C-clamps.
After pushing the pin all the way to the end, you can release the pedal. Clamp the C-clamp in the middle with pliers, and then push it directly onto the pin to reinstall the C-clamp. If the pliers are not perpendicular to the middle of the clamp, it will be difficult to apply force without rotating the clamp.
