Beautiful matted and framed print of French artist
Elisabeth Sonrel’s (1874-1953) painting “Madonna.” Age and maker of print are unknown. Frame measures approximately 8 5/8” high and 6 5/8” wide. Print appears to be in excellent used condition, although it seems to be slightly “wavy” under the matte and glass. Matte appears to be in excellent used condition. Print and matte have not been examined outside of the frame. Gold-painted wood frame appears to be in very good used condition with signs of wear, including scratches, scrapes, nicks, chips, abrasions, and indentations. There is also some paint overspray in the upper right corner of the frame and a perhaps a few spots on the glass, and paint on the back of the frame. Hardboard backing appears to be in very good condition with a rectangular area of fading. Estate sale find.
