    Description

Grouping of five Chenghua Nian Zhi pieces consisting of: (1) single vase, 4-1/4" diamater x 11-1/4"H; (2) paired vases, each 4" diameter x 10"H; (1) lidded ("ginger") jar, 7" diameter x 9"H; and (1) display charger, 15-5/8" diameter x 2-3/4" deep. These were collected individually and are not of the same origin, but are sold as a set.
The single vase is in very good condition, with no chips or cracks.
The pair of vases is also in very good condition, with one miniscule chip and no cracks.
The jar is in very good condition, with no chips or cracks. Its top, however, has been expertly repaired (many years ago, by an Asian ceramics repair expert). The cracks are apparent but do not detract from the beauty and the hand-painted image on the top.
The charger was apparently broken in half many years ago. It, too, has been expertly repaired by an Asian ceramics repair expert. While the crack is visible from the front (and back), it does not detract from the beauty of this impressive piece. The repair is really quite subliminal.
I know the provenance of these repairs as I purchased them in 1970 from the Asian ceramics repair expert in San Francisco. They had been brought in for repair and the previous owner never returned to pick them up. After they sat in his shop for 5 years, and I saw them there each time I took items in for repair, he finally agreed to sell them to me and they have been in my collection ever since.
Shipping will be a bit expensive on these as they collectively weigh about 18 lbs and will have to be packed in two separate boxes for shipment.
