Rare original in "Vintage" Condition - I am pleased to be offering a Scottish Two-Tone Stoneware Handled Whiskey Jug made in Glasgow & London. It was made for the Taylor Brothers (Glasgow) Ltd., and depicts an old woman in a shawl holding a whisky jug in one hand and a two glasses on a serving tray in the other hand, bordered by Scottish Thistles and acorns, to the Market Place. This Finger Jug stands 8 1/2" inches in height by 4 5/8" at the widest point and 3 3/8" across the base. The wording on the top of the piece states: Product of Scotland - Contents 26 1/2 English Fluid Ounces. On the face is the Scottish saying: "Take a woo Daoch-an-Doris before yo gang awa". The foundry mark on the bottom is GovanCroft Pottery, Glasgow. This one has the original cork, which has a wooden carved top and you never see them with one. This piece of history is in Very Nice condition with no defects, chips, cracks, scratches, or crazing. As a Gift this Whisky Jug is a timeless treasure to be adored or perhaps a fabulous addition to your own Stoneware Jug Collection.
