Description
Early 20th c. Victrola Style Record Player Cabinet w/ Record StorageThis turn-of-the-century mahogany floor cabinet phonograph record player features a mock cabinet & drawer front cupboard with slots of storing records and extra needles. It features a green velvet turn table and stainless arm. The speaker is directly beneath the player itself and is covered in a blue and yellow damask. it is hidden behind a fall-front door that slides back into the piece during play.
The phonograph itself is housed in the top of the piece, neatly hidden under a prop cover, essentially turning the piece into a table when not in use. The cabinet was redone at some point and there is some issues with one of the feet, giving it a slight wobble. This does not affect play at all, even if the piece is bumped or moved mid-record. There are no signs of a maker's mark or brand any where on the piece, nor are there serial numbers on the
mechanism
.
This item is most similar to the Edison 1920s floor player and the Royal Adler radio & record player model of the 1930s. It measures 35 1/4" high, 38" long, 19 7/8" wide, and weighs between 50 - 75 lbs.
This item is in very good condition but does show signs of wear from age and use on the wooden cabinet. The record player and speaker are in excellent condition and play beautifully. Please consult all images and message with any questions.
