Description

Vintage hand-colored etching of Chartres Cathedral in France. Appears to be an ink and watercolor etching. Painted wood frame measures approximately 6 3/4” x 9”. Etching measures approximately 6” x 8”. Etching appears to be in excellent vintage condition with signs of age and wear, such as fading, yellowing, and minor spots or foxing. Etching has not been examined outside of frame. Wood f
rame appears to be in very good to excellent vintage condition with signs of age and wear, such as scratches, scrapes, nicks, chips, dents, abrasions, and loss of finish. Mitered corners of frame appear tight and fit together well. Paper backing is mostly intact and appears to be in good to very good used condition, with
signs of age and wear, such as
scratches, scrapes, tears, wrinkles, abrasions, and nail protrusions. There is also a small bubble or manufacturing flaw in the lower left side of the glass.
