The Fulton Ferry terminal, general market, and pier were located on the East River in Lower Manhattan connecting to Fulton Ferries transporting passengers between Brooklyn and Manhattan. The Bleecker Street rail line was leased to the Twenty-Third Street Railway in 1876, and then subleased to the Houston, West Street & Pavonia Ferry Railroad in 1893, then again to the Metropolitan Street Railway later in 1893.
