    Description

Antique Sterling Silver Cedar Lined Cigarette Box 1938 Amateur Handicap Tournament California Golf Association. Ultra Rare Piece!!
A lovely piece of American history. I believe this tournament took place at Pebble Beach Golf Links in 1938.
The top of the box is engraved “1938 Amateur Handicap Tournament Eleventh Flight Runner Up” and has the California Golf Association medallion on the top, which includes the California state seal. The bottom of the box is hallmarked with the British sterling silver lion passant. The box weighs a whopping 510 grams and measures 5-13/16” wide x 3-1/2” deep x 2” tall.
The box is in excellent original condition, with no knocks or dents. The silver lid hinge works perfectly, and the lid opens and closes securely. The cedar wood lining is in great condition. I have only wiped the box down with rubbing alcohol. I have not attempted to polish the silver.
