ANTIQUE SAMUEL SCHIFF
9 x 7” LITHOGRAPHIC PRINT
CHRIST IN THE GARDEN OF GETHSEMANE
By HEINRICH HOFMANN
Framed
This beautiful lithograph retains its deep, lush colors and the print itself is in lovely condition. There are no rips, tears, odors, etc. There is some yellowing on the back side due to age. The frame shows some mild wear and it was gold-gilded but a lot of the gold is worn off. The glass is intact. The print was sealed behind paper at one time but that paper is gone, revealing the cardboard underneath along with bits of the kraft paper and a label that has a small bit of waybill info. There is a patent date of Feb. 1920 on it. The eye screws are not the originals but the hanging wire might be. There are only two nails holding the contents in place so it will all have to be secured before hanging.
The original of this print was painted in 1890 and it hangs in the Riverside Church in New York City.
