Jagger was best known for his role as the lead singer of the massive band, the Rolling Stones, where he was often regarded as the greatest frontman in Rock and Roll history. During his time with the Stones, the group sold over 250 million records and released eight Number one singles, including "Start Me Up," "Angie," and "(I can't Get No) Satisfaction."
Jagger's success as a musician has extended far beyond the band itself. Jagger became a superstar in his own right, dating models and even gaining Knighthood in the United Kingdom despite his famous snub by Queen Elizabeth II. Now, he is further immortalized as part of the Legends of Music Series. Each coin in the series was struck from one ounce of .999 fine silver. Only 10,000 pieces were authorized for this mintage.
Powerful Mick Jagger Design by Sid Maurer
Sid Maurer had a legendary career in the music industry before transitioning to painting later in his life. Maurer stared at Columbia Records at the young age of 17, where he would work with some of the greatest musicians of the modern era. This stunning silver coin combines his passion for both music and art.
Queen Elizabeth II's right-side effigy by Ian Rank-Broadley is at the center of the obverse. Several rim inscriptions join the portrait. Her name is among them, while the others provide essential details about the coin.
The reverse features Sid Maurer's depiction of Mick Jagger. Jagger has his mouth wide open, and his head tilted downwards. Through the use of color printing application, the background was made to look like a vinyl record. The series is identified with the inscription "LEGENDS OF MUSIC" along the rim, while "SID MAURER ARTWORK OF MICK JAGGER" is closer to his likeness.
