The country of Tokelau tends to be known for the variety of limited mintage coins it produces for collectors. The mintage limit for the 2015 antique silver Aries coin is limited to 1,000 pieces. Please be aware that the final mintage could actually be lower, 1,000 coins is the maximum.
2015 Antique Silver Proof Aries Coin Background
While the 2015 Creatures of Myth and Legend Aries coin was issued for the country of Tokelau, it was actually minted in Germany. This coin was produced by the Mayer Mint. The Mayer Mint is a private company that has been in operation since 1871. Over the years they have produced a variety of coins for the collector market, the bullion market, and general circulation.
Satin Proof Aries Silver Content
Each of these extremely low mintage silver Aries coins contains 1 Troy oz. of silver. The silver used for these coins is .999 fine, like the majority of silver coins on the market today. This antique silver proof is slightly smaller in diameter than the American Silver Eagle.
Antique Silver Proof Aries with Original Capsule
To protect this coin, it was placed in a capsule by the Mayer Mint workers before being shipped. This original capsule is included and the coin has not been removed from it. This 2015 Tokelau Aries coin also comes with a numbered certificate of authenticity. The certificate is printed on paper with a classic brown tone that is similar to the look of an aged historical document. This certificate states the number of your coin as well as the diameter, material, country of issue, denomination, date, weight, fineness, mintage limit, and the type of finish. In the background are a total of 4 rams.
2015 Tokelau Silver Antique Aries Coin Design
Since this silver Aries coin was issued for the country of Tokelau, one side displays a design of Queen Elizabeth II, as created by Ian Rank-Broadley. Below this depiction of Queen Elizabeth II is the official badge of Tokelau with their motto, which means Tokelau for the Almighty. The object seen in the badge of Tokelau is actually a tackle box. This side of the coin is an excellent example of how an antique finish can enhance the fine details of a design to make them easier to see with the naked eye. The inscriptions on this side read “ELIZABETH II,” “TOKELAU 2015,” “FIVE DOLLARS,” and “1 oz. 999 SILVER.”
The opposite side shows Aries the ram. Behind Aries is an arrangement of stars. The satin proof antique finish makes the fine details stand out here as well. This side of the coin has no inscriptions.
